Greek God: John Pruitt (THEN & NOW)

Legendary COLT Alpha man John Pruitt managed to make a lasting impression on the collective memory of fans of the male form. No matter if you prefer your beefcake smooth or hairy, we have some images for you.

A native of Champaign, Illinois, future COLT Man John Pruitt’s started out as star Drury University Hall of Fame swimmer Jim Yount.  A dominant force on the “Panthers” for four years, Yount was a team co-captain his sophomore, junior and senior years as well as a multiple national champion, multiple All-American and multiple national record holder. As a Senior, Yount earned his team MVP honors at the 1981 NAIA national meet and helped lead them to Drury’s first national championship. I bet he was a sight to behold. Yount’s successes gave him the chance to meet childhood hero and Olympic gold medalist Mark Spitz (whom I bet was just as glad to meet him up close and personal).

In the mid to late 80’s under his real name of Jim Yount, he starred in a multi-part series of instructional VHS exercise /bodybuilding videos called "Building the Body Beautiful." Also in the series is fellow future Colt model Jeff DeYoung. With the face of the cornfed boy next door and the heroic physique of a Greek God tightly clad in the tank tops and then-popular ever so short shorts of the time, Jim Yount flexes his way through his free weight workout while explaining it all step by step in his deep sexy voice. They should release these on a DVD.

Most if not all the nudes found in this gallery date from a period following his exercise video when he became one of the most popular models shot regularly by COLT photographer Jim French for  COLT Studio’s homoerotic books, magazines and calendars. French’s amazingly iconic images speak for themselves and make it clear why John Pruitt hold a special place in the history of hunks.  Please leave a comment or send me a message if you know anything else of Jhon Pruitt.
Check out something else of this Alpha, Jim Yount...
